VahanTax Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what the VahanTax app (“VahanTax”, “we”, “us”) collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. VahanTax is operated by Forms24, Gangarampur, West Bengal 733124, India. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
1What we collect
Your account
- Your name, email address and profile photo from the Google account you sign in with.
- The name and mobile number you enter, and any profile photo you choose.
- A referral code, if a friend invited you.
Your vehicle and requests
- Your vehicle's RC number, and the photo of your RC (registration certificate) if you upload one.
- Vehicle details read from the RC, such as the make and model, chassis number, engine number and the state it is registered in.
- What you ask for: the state and border, dates and period of a border tax pass, or the state tax, AITP or PUC you need, and the receipts and certificates we get for you.
Payments and wallet
- Amounts, payment status, the payment method type (for example UPI or card) and the order and payment references from our payment partner, Razorpay.
- Your in-app wallet balance, its transactions, and referral rewards.
- We never see or store your card number, CVV, UPI PIN or bank password; Razorpay handles those.
Support and notifications
- Support tickets you raise (the topic, your message and the request it is about), and anything you send us by email, phone or WhatsApp.
- Your notification token, so we can send you updates, and the language you use the app in.
Usage and device information
- Through Google Firebase Analytics: the screens you open and actions such as starting or completing a payment, your device model, operating system and app version, an approximate location (country or region) derived from your IP address, and your device's advertising ID.
- Through Google Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports with the state of the app and device when it crashed.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts or SMS messages. The app uses your camera or photo library only when you choose to take or pick a photo.
2Why we use it
- To provide our services: paying border tax, state tax and AITP fees, and getting PUC certificates, for your vehicle.
- To read and check your RC, so the details on your request are right.
- To take payments, give refunds, and run the wallet and referral rewards.
- To answer support requests and to tell you when a receipt or quotation is ready.
- To send occasional offers and reminders. You can turn these off in your phone's notification settings for the VahanTax app.
- To understand how the app is used, fix crashes and improve the app.
- To prevent fraud and misuse, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
4Where it is stored and how it is protected
Your data is stored with Google Cloud and Firebase. Our main database is in India (Delhi). Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to the people who need it to serve you, and the app's rules stop other users from reading your data.

- Your account data is kept while you have an account.
- If you delete your account, it is kept for 30 days in case you change your mind, then erased. See Delete your account.
- Records of passes, requests, payments and wallet transactions are kept for as long as tax, accounting and other laws require, even after you delete your account.
- Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
6Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it erased, and you can withdraw consent you have given.
